A downloadable toy for Windows and Linux

A 2D simulation of a planet with a LOT of junk orbiting it- your ship included!

Wrestle against the rings as you try to land on the planet as you watch moons form, collide, and get ripped apart by tidal forces.
Or, use the simulation editor to change the number of particles, where the rings start and end, and add multiple planets- then watch unstable gravitational madness ensue.

Features:

  • Custom N-body gravitation engine written in c++ for performance
  • Simulation editor with the ability to play in your custom simulations
  • Immersive ship camera with simulated springiness for extra bonk

Flight manual:

Controls are the standard affair: WASD to move, scroll wheel to zoom the camera, and ESC pauses.

Should you blast yourself deep into the black abyss, I've added some UI elements to help guide you back home. A big arrow points back to the center, and a smaller one points towards where you're headed. An approach indicator will let you know how quickly you're returning before you find out via extreme speed collision, though weather or not you try to slow down is up to you. :)

Developer Comments:

This is my first Godot project, I was NOT expecting it to evolve into something worth releasing. My goals were just to learn how the engine works and how to modify it. While it's more of a toy than a game, I am happy with how it turned out, and I hope it makes you happy too.
